General FAQs
Can Addison Appliances assist with product advice and selection?
We’re always happy to answer questions and share our experience to help guide your decision. Getting the product selection right from the start is vital — it affects everything from physical fit and clearances to electrical requirements, power supply, and overall installation complexity. Our advice is based on what we know works in real-world installations, and we’re here to help you choose a solution that will install correctly and perform as intended.
Can Addison Appliances cut stone benchtops?
Yes. Our WorkSafe-trained professionals are approved and certified to cut existing stone benchtops, including engineered stone such as Caesarstone, where required to accommodate appliance replacements.
All cutting work is carried out using appropriate PPE and WorkSafe-compliant dust extraction equipment to ensure the process is safe, controlled, and clean.
Please note that we do not cut porcelain benchtops due to their glass-like composition, which makes them prone to shattering during cutting.
Does Addison Appliances take away old appliances?
Yes, we do.
Our technicians will dispose of your old appliances responsibly at local metal scrap facilities.
Please note that packaging waste from new products is not removed. We kindly ask customers to dispose of all packaging materials via their household recycling bins.
How do I know if my electrical supply is suitable for an induction cooktop installation?
Induction and electric cooktops and ovens require a dedicated electrical circuit to meet compliance requirements. We review the specifications of the appliance you’re considering and compare them with your home’s available electrical capacity, often using a photo of your switchboard.
We’ll advise whether your existing circuit is suitable or if a new dedicated circuit is required, so you can be confident the appliance you choose will install correctly and safely.
Can Addison Appliances assist in claiming government financial incentives for new heat pump hot water systems?
Yes — Addison is a Solar Victoria–approved installation company.
Our administration team can help eligible heat pump customers access substantial Solar Victoria rebates, often delivering savings of more than $2,000. Contact us to find out what incentives may be available for your installation.
My new appliance looks larger than the old one. Can Addison modify my cabinetry to make it fit?
Yes — Addison can assist with minor cabinet modifications.
Our installers can carry out small, functional cabinet adjustments required to accommodate appliance installations. These modifications are completed using stainless steel strips or white melamine.
We do not have the facilities to manufacture or finish cabinetry in specialised materials or decorative profiles. Where this type of work is required, a qualified cabinetmaker should be engaged prior to installation.
Basic cabinet modifications are provided as a practical solution only and are not intended to replicate custom or high-end cabinetry finishes.
I think there will be gaps around my new appliance — how can I hide them?
When a new appliance leaves visible gaps due to size or alignment differences, we can help achieve a clean, built-in look by using aesthetic filler panels. Addison can measure the gaps and arrange custom-made stainless steel filler panels or practical white melamine panels to close them. These panels are designed to deliver a tidy, professional finish and are installed as part of the appliance installation process.
How does your quoting work for appliance installations?
We provide a series of short videos that explain our appliance changeover and quoting process in detail. These videos walk through what information we need, how quotes are prepared, and what to expect before installation.
