Why Are Qasair Products So Effective?
The effectiveness of Qasair products can be attributed to several key factors.
- Over 40 years of focus on product engineering and improvement.
Industry leading build Quality (consisting of primarily high-quality stainless steel).
Industry unique ducting methods that require large metal ducting engineered for optimal airflow.
Very high quality european motors.
Fundamental design (with less components to breakdown over time than that of many of their competitors).
Qasair rangehoods require Qasair specific mechanical ducting to ventilate their products. While some brands allow for the use of flexible ducting, Qasair ducting is larger and engineered for far superior airflow. Read below for further detail on Qasair ducting.
Why Choose Qasair Rangehoods?
Qasair rangehoods are renowned for their superior performance, quiet operation, and sleek designs that fit seamlessly into any kitchen style. Engineered for the toughest cooking conditions, Qasair products offer exceptional odour and smoke removal capabilities that make cooking a pleasure.
Why Are Qasair Products So Quiet?
We attribute four main factors to Qasair’s reputation for quiet operation.
The larger and thicker than average mechanical style ducting is intelligently designed to allow for ease of airflow resulting in less turbulence and consequently less overall noise of that of typical rangehood products.
Unparalleled sound insulation panels within the body of the Qasair product.
The sound suppressing insulation panels used in Qasair products are to a standard not seen in competing products.Rigid stainless steel body construction assists to conceal any noise that would otherwise be expelled from daily operation.
Designed to not work too hard…
Qasair’s intelligently engineered ducting requirements allow their products to enjoy superior airflow than that of many of their competitors. A benefit of this airflow advantage is that Qasair do not need to design their fan motors to work as hard as some of their competitors to achieve the same or even better airflow.
This results in quieter operation as the Qasair motors are able to more gently push air through the ducting system opposed to forcing air through tighter and more restrictive ducting systems.
Additionally this ease of operation may be somewhat responsible for the renowned longevity of the Qasair fan motors.
What type of ducting is right for you?
Qasair provides 3 main types of products with different ducting requirements.

Where do people go wrong with Qasair installation?
Qasair is a premium product designed for a superior user experience. The performance of the Qasair product range is not solely dependent on the quality of the product and its components but in fact relies heavily on the quality of the installation and thorough consideration as to the design of the installation.
In regards to new home builds or renovations, Qasair products can be installed in almost all applications granted that the installation is considered early and is not an afterthought. It is vital that an experienced Qasair installer is consulted in the early stages of the project.

You can contact the Addison Appliances team for assistance in deciding on the most appropriate product.
“The earlier a client reaches out to Addison the smoother the installation process can be.”
Without careful consideration as to what product is most appropriate and the method by which it is installed people can experience problems such as:
- Purchasing the wrong product for the application and having to pay restocking fees.
- Having to cut open finished sections of the home’s ceilings/walls in order to gain access to spaces to run the ducting within.
- Having to run inefficient ducting methods to avoid obstructions that otherwise could have been designed differently at an earlier stage of the project.
- Having their cabinetry/adjacent areas designed incorrectly for the application and requiring variations to the already completed design.
FAQs
How do I know what ducting is required for my Qasair installation?
Ducting requirements differ from home to home so it is best to consult with the Addison team regarding the specific requirements and parameters of your job.
Can I retro fit a Qasair into my existing cabinetry or will I be required to alter the kitchen cabinetry?
As Qasair systems are quite heavy it is often best to have the section of cabinet built for the purpose of housing a Qasair system.
Should I duct my Qasair out of the wall or through the roof?
If the Qasair system is to be installed upon an external wall and there are no obstructions in or behind the external wall then it can often be beneficial to penetrate and duct directly out of the wall as this will require less ducting. If the kitchen is not configured in this way then alternate paths such as penetrating the roof may be required.
What is the warranty period of the Qasair products?
Qasair owners enjoy 10 year motor change over warranty period and 3 year product warranty.
When installed by the Addison team the 3 year product warranty will be doubled to 6 years!
I am undertaking a renovation project. When should I contact Addison about installation of the system?
As early as possible!
Achieving an adequate duct run may require alterations to obstructions, work behind plaster surfaces or even changes to the cabinetry design. This type of information is best to gather early in the project.
I think there will be gaps in the cabinetry around my new appliance, how can I hide such gaps?
Addison installers can measure aesthetically displeasing gaps around appliances and request quotes to have custom made stainless steel or perspex plastic filler panels manufactured. These panels can be installed onto the cabinet at a later date. This can result in a quite a neat and cost effective finish!

Are Qasair products worth the investment?
Qasair products certainly can be a larger investment than some competing brands on the market however they are what we describe to our customers as a “buy once, cry once product”. While it is true that there is more required with the product with its use of somewhat cumbersome ducting and certainly more product knowledge required to install the product adequately, it is also a product that performs to an industry leading standard and experiences the lowest fault/maintenance issues in the industry. The product is rigid and fundamentally designed with fewer parts to breakdown. It is not uncommon to find fully functional Qasair systems in excess of 30 years old.
How high above my cooking surface should I install my Qasair system?
When installing a Qasair above a gas cooking appliance it is required to install the product 650mm above gas burners.
While only 600mm of clearance is legally required when installing above electric cooking surfaces it is heavily advised by Qasair to install the product 750mm above induction cooking appliances in order to reduce/prevent condensation when cooking.
