Gas Cooktop to Gas Cooktop

Swapping one gas cooktop for another is one of the most common changeovers we handle. Here's what we assume when putting your quote together.

Key Assumptions for Your Quote

Same-size benchtop cutout

We assume your new cooktop fits your existing cutout.

If cutting is required, we can provide this service (including engineered stone cutting by WorkSafe-approved professionals).

Gas supply compliance

Your current gas line is assumed to be safe, compliant, and leak-free.

Power supply

The existing power outlet will be reused.

Extra fittings if needed

Minor charges may apply for additional copper, valves, or labour to redirect the gas feed.

Clearance compliance

There must be 65 cm from the gas burner to the lowest part of your range hood.

Free disposal

Old appliances are always removed at no extra cost.

Next Step: Reply to your quote email with confirmation and a couple of preferred installation dates.

Electric Cooktop to Electric Cooktop

Upgrading your electric cooktop? Whether you're moving from ceramic to induction or simply replacing a like-for-like unit, here's how we structure your quote.

Key Assumptions for Your Quote

Same-size benchtop cutout

We assume your new electric cooktop will fit the existing cutout.

Cutting is available if needed (including engineered stone).

Circuit adequacy

We assume your old cooktop's electrical circuit is sufficient for the new one.

If not, a new circuit will be quoted separately.

Safety switch check

We may need to upgrade your switchboard safety switch if it's not compliant.

Mandatory isolation switch

A legal requirement for electric cooktops.

If you already have one, no extra work is needed.

Transparent quoting

All additional requirements are clearly listed in your quote.

Free disposal

Old appliances are always removed at no extra cost.

Next Step: Reply to your quote email with confirmation and your preferred installation dates.

Dual Fuel Oven to Dual Fuel Oven

Dual fuel freestanding ovens combine a gas cooktop with an electric oven, so there are a few more moving parts to consider. Here's what we assume when quoting your changeover.

Key Assumptions for Your Quote

Product fit

We assume the new oven will fit existing cabinetry, as these sizes are standardised.

Clearance requirement

65 cm clearance is needed from gas burners to range hood.

If clearance is insufficient, we may raise the hood or switch to an induction model (only 60 cm clearance required).

Gas line compliance

Existing gas line is assumed safe and leak-free.

Rerouting or additional fittings may be quoted if necessary.

Electrical supply adequacy

Existing circuit is assumed to be suitable; upgrades are rarely needed.

Safety switch updates

May be required for compliance.

Free disposal

We remove your old oven at no cost.

Next Step: Call us or fill out our online form with the details of your new product and photos of your current setup, including switchboard. We'll email your quote and book installation at least one day after delivery.

Electric Oven to Electric Oven

Replacing one electric oven with another is usually the most straightforward changeover. Here's what we assume when we put your quote together.

Key Assumptions for Your Quote

Same-size fit

We assume the new oven fits the space of the old one. If it doesn't, we can provide minor cabinet modifications as an additional service.

Existing electrical circuit is suitable

In most cases the old oven's circuit will power the new unit. If it won't, we'll let you know and quote for running a new circuit. This will be shown clearly on your quote and explained in our terms and conditions.

Safety switch (RCBO) is adequate

This comes up more often than full circuitry upgrades and is usually simpler. If your switchboard's safety switch isn't compliant for the new oven, we may need to upgrade it.

Disposal included

All Addison Appliances installations include free disposal of your old appliance.

Next Step: When you receive the quote and you're happy to go ahead, reply to the email with "Yes" and a couple of preferred installation dates. We'll confirm your booking and handle the rest.
